1. Introduction

Shalom! Welcome in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

For over fifty years, ACTS University has been committed to the mission of cultivating missionaries, pastors, and theologians grounded in a God-centered and evangelical theology, for the evangelization of Asia and the world. We give thanks for the grace that has sustained us thus far, and now we look ahead to the next fifty years.

In an era marked by climate anomalies due to environmental changes, and rapid shifts in international affairs, domestic situations, social conditions, and ministry contexts, the church and theological institutions are increasingly confronted with deep and pressing questions: What is the role of the church today? What should seminaries do in this time?

The ACTS Theological Journal aspires to be a platform for sharing and engaging with these questions. It is vital that we not only learn from and reflect on how our forebears in the faith—2,000, 500, or even 100 years ago—interpreted their times and made decisions, but also actively seek out the questions, answers, and solutions appropriate for our own generation. We hope this journal becomes a space where such proposals and discussions can flow freely, and we pray to fulfill our entrusted responsibility with faithfulness.

The ACTS Theological Journal is listed in the Korea Citation Index (KCI), a national academic journal indexing system managed by the National Research Foundation of Korea. It is a quarterly publication, issued four times a year, and welcomes scholarly articles from all fields of theology. Manuscripts are accepted in both Korean and English. (Please note: the Fall issue is published in English only.) All submitted manuscripts undergo a fair and rigorous peer-review process. We invite submissions from scholars with doctoral degrees as well as doctoral candidates, both from Korea and abroad.

We pray and bless that your research may be read and shared by others, serving the Korean Church and the Kingdom of God. May the Lord work through us and be revealed through all we do!
